Shalomgroup™ Canada Team

LJ Wooden

I am a Certified Core Energetics Therapist (CCEP) as well as a process leader who has trained extensively at Shalom Mountain Retreat and Study Center, the Body Electric School, and with the Core Energetics Institute. For over 15 years, I have had the privilege to provide compassionate, professional and confidential services to individuals and groups across Canada and the US. I am here to support you on your journey.

My intention is to support you in stepping fully into the totality of your life. I believe that it is possible – at any point in our lives – to begin to live our story to a new conclusion. Using tools and interventions including breath and body work to help you explore your body’s energy and consciousness, you will release blocks and heal on all levels: body, mind, heart and spirit.

My personal healing and learning journey began with learning to live clean and sober over 15 years ago, followed by an introduction to the Shalom Process in Ontario. The bedrock of the Shalom Process is the Principles and Skills of Loving – namely, seeing, hearing and honouring one another with goodwill.

Betty Ann Rutledge

I believe deeply in the transformational power of bearing witness to one another’s sacred stories. Having spent over 20 years companioning the dying and bereaved as well as training others to walk with folks at these tender life crossroads, I’m grateful to have found my calling in facilitating others to bring their open hearts and presence to life transitions of all kinds. I think of it as my soul print. My own intimate knowledge of the heart’s path through pain to joy informs how I walk in the world.

As a grateful member of the SHALOMGROUP™ Canada team, I am here to answer your questions and connect you to the people and offerings that will best serve your needs at this time. You can be assured of complete confidentiality, compassion and respect in our correspondence.  Life is a journey and along the way, we encounter many gifts and opportunities for growth. The landscape may be unfamiliar and rocky at times. I’m honoured to offer my assistance to help you navigate the terrain.

Andrea Kwan

I am a grief counsellor, educator, and registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW) who supports individuals coping with grief, loss, and life transitions (as a result of death and non-death losses). I am also a SHALOMGROUP™ Canada leader.

I believe that with the right supports, we all have the ability to heal our wounds and to thrive. My intention is to provide a brave space and supportive environment for you to explore, express, and integrate what is present in your mind, heart, body and spirit. My compassionate presence and holistic approach will encourage you to examine all the ways that pain and suffering is affecting your life and well-being, and to learn to live into a new story.

I have experienced multiple personal losses; the most significant being the deaths of my parents in the Indian Ocean Tsunami when I was 19 years old. Through my own healing process, I have found my way to walking alongside others in their grief. I am committed to creating brave and inclusive spaces where bereaved individuals can grieve authentically and holistically.

I am deeply committed to offering children, young people and adults an accepting, nurturing and connective environment in which to explore and express their unique experiences of grief and loss.  My passion for companioning people in their grief work began after the sudden death of my mother when I was 15.  My journey includes a depth of professional and personal development (including an MA in Counselling) that continues to lead me toward becoming more conscious, embodied and mindfully present. Today I am also blessed to be the mother of two amazing children who are deeply loved by my husband and I along with an extended and intentional family who are devoted to their care and nurturing. This has taught me invaluable life lessons, in particular about the power of collective healing and the need for community. I am here to walk with you as you are reconnected with your own inner wisdom.  And I am honoured to be with you in the unfolding of your pain as you discover that with compassion, patience and loving attention, deep grief and deep joy can gracefully coexist in all of us.

Nina Swift

I am an ordained minister with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of the United States and Canada and have extensive training in process therapy, core energetics and energetic healing. Living as a Queer woman of colour has taught me that our differences create a vibrant tapestry that weave us all together.

My life experiences underscore my call in the world for integrity, compassion and justice. I honour and respect that each of us takes our own path to wholeness and I am fiercely committed to promoting kindness and justice in a world that sorely needs more of both.

My training and my journey of self-exploration informs the work I do with others. I am committed to being present with you where you are in your life and as you dream towards the future. I believe our bodies hold the wisdom we need to heal and I would be honoured to support you as you unearth that wisdom so you live more fully into your life.

Hank Bridgeman

I am a certified personal life coach trained at Rhodes Wellness College, Vancouver BC, as well as a SHALOMGROUP™ Canada leader in Dawson Creek, BC. My intent as a life coach is to partner with you, and to help you work through the problems and self-limiting beliefs that are holding you back from achieving your goals and self-empowerment. Working within your value system, in a safe and confidential environment, I am here to support you in expanding your self-awareness and moving forward to achieve the goals and the life you really want.

Having coming from a background of childhood emotional/ritual abuse and trauma, my healing journey has spanned many decades. Until I found the Shalom Community, I had been a lone wolf for many years of my life. Through Shalom, I finally found the family that accepted, supported and loved me in my uniqueness, and I have been reuniting with my authentic self ever since.

Sharon Neumann

I first started attending Shalom retreats in the 1980’s just outside of London, Ontario.  Shalom connected me with myself and with others who were on a similar journey.  The desire to live intentionally, consciously and in meaningful relationships is central to who I am.  Being able to do my work in a loving, safe and supportive community has enabled me to see more of my authentic self and to become more fully alive.

I have had a huge desire for Shalom to be available throughout Canada.   It means a lot to me to be able to share the Shalom process with others.  As a member of the leadership team of Dawson Creek I help facilitate meetings, organize retreats and enthusiastically encourage others to experience the power and passion of living the Principles and Skills of Loving.
